Stuart's recent band performance was an eye opener as to how well he's coming along with the drums.. Great job Stuart!

Szechenyi Baths

One of my favorite things to do in Budapest is to go to the outdoor baths. I save this experience for a cold night, preferably with some snow. Since we are on a week vacation for Ski Break, and it had been snowing throughout the day, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity. The best part is leaving one hot pool and running to another, getting completely frozen in the meantime.

Piano Recital

Maddie had an opportunity to play a piece that she'd been working on for an audience.

Stuart had lots of opportunities to 'make noise' and create beautiful music! Here are some samples (listen for the drums).

Drummer Boy

Some members of the middle school band went to Istanbul for a band festival. It was a wonderful opportunity to gather with other students from Moscow, Warsaw, Prague, Bucharest and Istanbul. Stuart learned a lot about percussion!





The band put on a final concert to show off their efforts.

Turkey Dinner

While in Istanbul I was taken out to a restaurant and had an amazing meal experience. Our group of 10, sat down and was served this flaming dinner. These are whole chickens, encrusted in a salt shell that was set on fire. Then the waiter, hammered through the salt and served a very tender chicken stuffed with rice and nuts.

On the way to braces

The first step is being fitted for a nightly retainer.... braces are a couple of years down the road.
